1. About these terms

These terms form a contract between you and Englisure ("we", "us") for our online English language assessment and certificate (the "Service"). By creating an account, ticking the acceptance boxes at checkout and paying, you agree to them. Please read them carefully and keep a copy.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 16 and use your own real details. The name on your account must match your photo ID — it is printed on your certificate.
• You must verify your email address. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• One person per account. Accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.

3. Price and payment

• The price is shown before you pay and is taken in full by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Payment buys one attempt at the test and, if approved, one certificate.

4. Access window

Your test is available immediately after payment and must be completed within 24 hours. Once you start, a time limit applies (shown before you begin). If the access window or time limit runs out, your saved answers are submitted automatically, or — if you never started — the test expires. Expired tests are not refunded.

5. Test rules (proctoring)

To keep certificates trustworthy, every test is monitored and reviewed. During the test you must:

1. Keep your webcam switched on, uncovered and pointed at your face, in a well-lit room, for the entire test.
2. Be alone. No other person may be present, speak to you or help you.
3. Not use notes, books, translation tools, other websites, apps, devices or AI assistants.
4. Stay on the test page. Leaving the page or switching apps is recorded.
5. Not copy, record, photograph or share any test questions.
6. Upload a genuine, current, clearly readable driving licence or passport belonging to you.

We record, and our reviewers examine: your ID, webcam snapshots taken throughout the test (including whenever the camera appears blocked or dark), page-leave and camera events with timestamps, your answers, your IP address and device information.

6. Review and outcome

Every test is reviewed by a member of our team before a certificate is issued. We will approve your test and email your certificate, or reject it and email you the reason. We may reject a test if, in our reasonable judgement, any rule in section 5 was broken or your identity could not be confirmed. A camera that is blocked, covered, dark or disconnected during the test is grounds for rejection even if this was accidental. Our decision is final.

If your test is rejected, we may offer you a one-time retake at a reduced price. The retake offer is personal to your account, can be used once, and expires on the date stated in the email.

7. Refunds and your right to cancel

• Because the Service is digital and begins immediately on payment, at checkout you expressly ask us to start straight away and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 once the Service begins.
• All fees are non-refundable, including where your test is rejected, expires, is auto-submitted, or where you are unhappy with your level.
• The only exception is a proven technical fault on our side that prevented you from taking the test. In that case we will, at our choice, give you a fresh attempt or a refund.
• This does not affect your statutory rights.

8. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you have a problem, please contact us first at info@englisure.co.uk — we aim to reply within two working days. If you raise a chargeback or payment dispute, we will provide your bank or card issuer and Stripe with the records of your purchase and test, including your acceptance of these terms (with date, time, IP address and device), your account and payment details, your ID, webcam snapshots, event timeline, answers and all emails we sent you. Any certificate linked to a payment that is reversed may be revoked.

9. Certificates

• Your certificate shows your name, CEFR level, issue date and a unique reference. Anyone with the reference can confirm it is genuine at /verify.
• Certificates reflect your performance on our assessment. They are not a qualification regulated by Ofqual and acceptance is at the discretion of the organisation you present them to.
• We may revoke a certificate at any time if we find it was obtained dishonestly, the payment is reversed, or the details were false. Revoked certificates show as revoked when checked.

10. Your data

How we collect, use and delete your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. ID documents and snapshots are deleted after a set period; records of your purchase, terms acceptance and test are kept to verify certificates and handle disputes.

11. Liability

We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for problems caused by your device, browser, camera or internet connection. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the version you accepted at checkout applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
